Amazon secured a patent for a giant flying warehouse from which fleets of drones could ship packages within minutes, taking the e-commerce giant’s plans to automate deliveries to new heights. The “airborne fulfilment center” would be carried by an airship at an altitude of up to 45,000ft, and could also be used to deliver food or souvenirs during sporting events or festivals.
