Chinese real estate developer Greenland Group on Feb. 5 announced the establishment of a new energy vehicle (NEV) export company, which secured its first export order of 5,000 vehicles worth approximately $70 million. The vehicles, targeting high-demand models for markets in West Asia and the Middle East, mark the group's entry into the global NEV trade.

Leveraging the China International Import Expo (CIIE) platform and its global trade network, Greenland Group aims to build an integrated NEV export system through complete vehicle exports, overseas assembly, and service integration. The company targets annual exports of 100,000 units and 10 billion yuan in sales over the next three years.
China's NEV sector continues to thrive, with annual production and sales reaching 12.888 million and 12.866 million units in 2024, up 34.4% and 35.5% year-on-year, respectively, according to data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers (CAAM). The country's NEV exports hit 1.284 million units throughout last year, signaling vast growth potential for global expansion.
Greenland Group is advancing both overseas ecosystem and domestic platforms. On January 18, its Hefei Greenland Central Plaza GX360 was unveiled as Anhui Province's first NEV innovation hub, hosting brands like NIO, Tesla, Li Auto, Huawei, and Xiaomi EV. The project aims to create a premium "one-stop NEV purchasing and vehicle ecosystem" experience.
