What’s the difference between the American English and the British English?

Frankly speaking, this topic is so broad that there’s no way I’ll be able to cover every little detail in one episode.

So today, let’s take a look at some of the key differences between these two types of English.

American English

vs.

British English

Many of you guys already know that the pronunciation varies between the American English and the British English. But few of you actually know how that works.

If you ask someone which one is more proper, or which is more authentic than the other, maybe some people will tell you that that British English is the proper way to speak.

But that’s NOT true. It’s just someone’s opinion. There’s NO right way.

The type of English that you learn and decide to focus on should be based on your own situation as well as your own preference.

Much like an American who wants to study Chinese but can’t figure out whether to study the Beijing accent or the Taiwan accent.

Just think about where you want to go and what type of English you are more likely to use in daily life.

If you are spending most of your time in the US, you might want to talk more like an American.

Or if the majority of your friends are from the UK and you really want to blend in, I think you should really try to learn to sound more like them.

So that’s it for today

If you know some other examples,
