Three Kings Day in Spain

    每年的1月6日是西班牙传统的东方三圣节，又叫儿童节。对于孩子们来说，这一天就像圣诞节一样，他们会许下心愿，期待来年能够梦想成真。

In Spain January 6th is Three Kings Day. It is the most popular tradition (传统) among kids. Santa Claus is well-known as he gives out gifts, but the real stars in Spain are the Three Kings. 

When December comes, all the kids in Spain start to write letters to the Three Kings. They write about the things they’d like to receive on the morning of the 6th of January, and also about their behaviour (行为) during the past year. If they’ve been good, they get gifts; if they’ve been bad, they get a piece of coal (煤渣).

The Kings travel by camel. On the night of the 5th, the kids put their shoes by the door. They also put out something to eat and drink for the Kings, and water and grass for the camels.

On the morning of the 6th, the kids find their gifts inside and outside the shoes. The food and drinks for the Kings and the camels are gone. The kids start playing with their toys.
