岁。王臣邑博士生前任美国加州大学洛杉矶校区（
UCLA
）印度和中亚佛教学助理教授，正值学术壮年而突然去世，是国际佛教学界的一大损失。本研究所谨致以沉痛哀悼。

日出生于哥伦比亚，哥伦比亚国立大学古典音乐专业肄业，于
2010
年在意大利博洛尼亚大学获得亚洲历史学学士，
2011
年进入北京大学梵语巴利语专业，师从段晴教授学习
于阗语
和犍陀罗语，
2014
年获得硕士学位，硕士论文题目为：
Anantamukhanirhāradhāraṇī:
An Overview of Sanskrit, Chinese, Tibetan, and Khotanese Versions and Parallels
（《〈出生无边门陀罗尼经〉研究
——
梵、汉、藏、于阗语文本与平行本总览》）。此后进入加州大学洛杉矶校区，师从
Gregory Schopen
教授研习佛教学，于
2019
年获得博士学位，博士论文题目为：
The Goods that Cannot Be Stolen: Mercantile Faith in Kumāralāta’s
Garland of
Examples Adorned by Poetic Fancy
（《不可侵夺之物：童受〈喻鬘论〉中的商贾信仰》）。
