关于INNER/因而教育

I have been continuing to develop my research labconcept and specifically I have been focusing on some sectional qualitiesof the design. Since time is limited these days, I don’t always build elaboratemodels of each idea. In this case, I cut a section through my master model andworked it over in Photoshop to test out some ideas. This method doesn’tnecessarily always yield the cleanest images in terms of sharp line work andshading, but it is more than enough to get the idea across and show some of myprocess work at the same time.

This style of illustration is building off of my “ Culture Center Intro Illustration ” which took on a minimal/vintage typelook. Again, landscape elements are abstracted and shading is simplified.Colors are also diagrammatic to broadly represent basic elements of glass,vegetation, interior, etc. You can get away with a lot more going with a stylelike this. A fully detailed model isn’t necessary and mistakes can be concealedthrough paint and poche.

1. Sketchup Model

Like I said, I didn’t want to spend the time modelingeach idea. Therefore, I used just one model, then copied it 3 times inPhotoshop.

2. V-Ray Rendering

I used the material override in V-Ray to generate asimple clay model rendering, standard stuff here on this website.

(在渲染时候A神也抱着简化的思想使用基本色,操作简单,看起来也不错)


3. Poche

The first thing that I did in Photoshop was poche or fillin the cut areas of the model with black paint. This helps clarify the readingof the section and hides mistakes in the model. I also edited the baserendering in Photoshop to test out some of the other sectional ideas that Ihad. In this case, I sculpted the ground around the support columns aswell as some other minor changes.

(还是A神套路深,简单粗暴切割区直接涂黑,既方便分辨区间又减少瑕疵。经过修改的Ps基础渲染参数便与测试,趁着这个当口,A神顺带把剖柱周围的小细节深化,便于之后动作。)


4. Landscape Highlight

The section diagrams are meant to show two levels of informationin the cut. The black poche represents the cut through structure and redrepresents vegetation. These three studies are looking at how the vegetationflows in and around the architecture. I will probably create a key or annotatethese ideas later on down the road.

(红色和黑色部分很清晰的显示出了A神想下手处理的区域,以简单的色块来表示植被在建筑中和周围环境的流动,小伙伴们赶紧get到这个小技能,千万别放过)


5. Color

At this point, color is introduced to helpdefine material and further clarify the reading of the diagram. I amnot too concerned with how the colors are reading. I just need to get thelayers setup knowing that I most likely will tweak them later. I Also know thatI will make sweeping color adjustments towards the end with topaz.

(在目前阶段先不要考虑日后渲染出来是什么效果,把图层分清,说不定哪天你就会调整一番,所以喽,先把基础打好了日后怎么折腾都由你)


6. Background

A simple background was inserted which abstracts thetrees into long linear elements. I wanted to avoid the background getting toobusy with branches and distracting from the section.

(把线条放进去抽象成了树,简简单但不繁杂,整个画面一看就有了故事,A神也是有故事的人)
