张杨导演近期的两部作品，走了两条道路，完成的却是一次完整的修行。
《冈仁波齐》的主题是朝圣，讲述了坚定的意志、单纯节制、向光而行且相信平凡的力量，而《皮绳上的魂》的主题则是降魔，充沛的勇气交织着梳理混乱的决心、直面黑暗并肯定逆境的价值。
在《皮绳上的魂》这部电影中，人物命运复杂多元，时空关系变换莫测，现实与虚构相生相成。多数人都在寻找、追问中渐渐接近需要直面的真相，直至共同揭开一个包含爱与救赎、牺牲与原谅、责任与使命的故事，降服自己的“心魔”。
为电影特别策划的《皮绳上的魂》电影·公共艺术项目。以电影中独特的时空结构为灵感，延展宿命与选择的话题，让每一个参与者在观影前或观影后都自己探索一程魔幻现实主义的神秘路径，在这前行的过程中直面与梳理内心，去观望解读自己命运的掌纹地。

Zhang Yang's latest films are a complete journey that follows two different paths.
Paths of the Soul focuses on a pilgrimage, will power, simplicity and restraint, moving toward the light and belief in the power of the ordinary. Soul on a String concentrates on overcoming evil, abundant courage with resolution to make order out of chaos, confronting darkness and recognizing the value of adversity.
Soul on a String mixes the complex fates of characters, changes in time and space and the relationship between reality and fiction. Most people move closer to the truth through their own individual search until they discover love and rede
mption, sacrifice and forgiveness, duty and vocation and ultimately overcome their own 'demons'.
This public art project surrounding Soul on a String is inspired by the unique structure of the movie. We expound on the topic of fate and will to encourage audiences to explore the mysterious path of magical realism before and after watch the movie, enabling them to confront and organize their inner world and examine their fate.
