An Egyptian woman who hasn’t left her home in 25 years is about to make a life-changing trip to India. Eman Ahemd Abd El Aty is thought to be the world’s heaviest woman. If she weighs 1100 pounds as her family says, she’d be the heaviest woman alive by more than 400 pounds and one of the heaviest women to have ever lived. Soon a chartered plane will fly her to Mumbai for a weight-reduction surgery. Dr. Muffazal Lakdawala,who will perform the surgery, helped make the trip possible after he tweeted India’s foreign minister Sushma Swaraj for help getting a medical visa.
