我们若通过一般语法句法分析则无法解码出句子的真正含义，需要了解一些惯用的句式表达，并且结合上下文，才能理解其真正意图。

last 最不可能的；最不适当的
last man 是最后一个人，那 the last man I want to see 是我想见的最后一个人了吗？
其实，the last …… + that从句是固定结构，这里的 last 的意思为“least likely”，译为“最不愿意；最不可能”。

“无论怎样的……也不……”。
真正的句子意思与字面意思正好相反，并具有含蓄的让步意味，而不是字面上的强调句型。

并不是“我一点都不同意你”而是表示
“我完全同意”！
例句：
I couldn’t agree with you more about the need to hire extra staff.
我完全同意你招一些额外的员工。
这句话要翻译成“某人不能在乎的很少”，而是表示
“某人一点都不在乎，某人完全无所谓”。
I couldn't care less ＝I don't care at all。
Quite honestly, I couldn't care less what they do.
并不是“全部的关心”哦，而是“漠不关心、无动于衷、全然不在乎”。
