Job Description

The Chen Lab led by Dr. Wensi Chen is looking for one creative and self-motivated Ph.D. student to join us in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Texas A&M University, starting 2025 Fall .


The Chen Lab focuses on the design, development, and application of advanced functional materials to address global challenges related to water, energy, and health ( https://www.wensichen.com/ ). The successful candidate will work on electrified water treatment processes for water purification and resource recovery.


The review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Applications received by December 31 will be given full consideration.

Candidate Requirement

  • Must have a bachelor’s degree in relevant fields including but not limited to environmental engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry, material science and engineering, etc.

  • A master’s degree in relevant fields is highly desirable but not required

  • Previous research experience with catalyst synthesis and electrochemistry would be favorable

  • Conduct independent research projects as well as team working abilities

  • Excellent scientific writing and communication skills
