Gobi running with me took my mind off the actual part ofrunning in the extreme conditions of the desert. I was in complete amazementthat this little dog could run so quick and just keep running no matter thecircumstance. For a little dog Gobi has a very big heart. During the race Imade Gobi a promise in the desert that I was going to bring her home and I knewwhatever it took I wanted to achieve this.

Gobi让我忘记了沙漠极端恶劣的环境。她只是一只小狗，但在那样的极端环境下却一点都没有落后，令人吃惊。Gobi体型虽小，却有一颗坚定的心。比赛期间，我向Gobi承诺，无论付出什么代价，赛后都要把她带回家。

I was home in Edinburgh, Scotland when I received a phone call that Gobi was missing in Urumqi. It was the most depressing news and instantly I was concerned for Gobi’s well -being and safety. I made the decision to fly back to China immediately and sacrificed everything to find her. Gobi and I had formed a bond and connection that was more than just special, it was life changing.

得知Gobi在乌鲁木齐走丢的消息时，我正在英国爱丁堡的家里。消息令我深受打击，我非常担心Gobi的安全，立刻买了机票飞回中国，发誓无论如何也要找到她。Gobi和我已经结下了深厚的感情，她改变了我的生活。

I arrived in Urumqi and started doing some television and press interviews which really captured the hearts of the people in Urumqi.

抵达乌鲁木齐后，我开始接电视和媒体采访，很多当地人都得知了Gobi周六的消息。

The people were so supportive, generous and welcoming. It was like the whole city got behind me and was searching for this little dog that none of them had ever met before. I would not have found Gobi without everyone’s help and all the volunteers who searched day and night. It was such a heartwarming moment when we found Gobi that she was alive.
