瑞士爵士四重奏由德国贝斯手 André Hahne 于1994年7月创立，乐队成员由萨克斯、爵士钢琴、 贝斯和爵士鼓组成。

这支乐队已经录制了：

"The Fly"、"Green Apples"、"Empreintes"、"Live à la Case à Chocs"、"C¬est où Doregon"、"Double Album Studio & Live"、"le Pendu"、"Les Lois de l'éphèmère"、”Buenos Aires-Paris” 9张专辑并在全球巡演。

No Square 乐队的爵士乐具有简单旋律线条加上丰富变幻复合节奏的律动的特点。 No Square 也为很多乐团和剧团创作并制作了音乐。

No Square曾到世界各地演出，他们的足迹踏至瑞士、德国、法国、意大利、荷兰、波兰、奥地利、保加利亚、塞那加尔、比利时、卢森堡、巴西、智利、古巴、阿根廷、乌拉圭、中国、泰国、新西兰、澳大利亚等国。

Created in July 1994, the jazz quartet No Square was founded and led by the German bassist, André Hahne. The group has already produced 9 albums and has toured around the world. « The initial idea was to develop an living, energetic jazz. Our music has developed as a group, not just as individuals but shared equally. What motivates and animates us is playing live » The jazz of No Square is composed of simple melodies and of  more complexe binary grooves  inspired by polyrythms and odd mesures devoloped in contemporary jazz. No Square has also created and produced music for many creations and theater pieces.

The band is preparing it’s 10th album, « Very Bad Bus »for 2018

Matthieu Durmarque is a tenor, alto and soprano saxophonist born in France in 1986. He started to learn this instrument in local music schools before deciding to become a professional musician.

Thus he had the opportunity to study and graduate 3 high schools of music: Metz Conservatory, Didier Lockwood Center, Lausanne Conservatory, at the same time he began to play with different bands, in particular with BB King's drummer group for one year.

Interested and inspired by many music styles, he is playing with various bands, especially No Square for now 7 years.

Michael Haudenschild is one of the most promising uprising piano players of Switzerland. He has a deep feel for harmonies as well as a great sense for melodic and lyrical expression. These skills he uses very creatively when improvising as a soloist but also when accompanying. He recently graduated with a master degree in Jazz Composition at the University of Arts in Bern, capital city of Switzerland.

In his unique style of composing and sound design he combines acoustic with electronic approaches and creates his own musical vocabulary. He is currently working on two of his own projects: the piano trio E-SCAPE and the microtonal quartet KROSMO where he is playing the world’s only Thirdtone-Piano, located in Bern. With his trio he released his first record and won various prices as a piano player.

André Hahne is a German/New Zealand musician living and working in Switzerland.

He’s well known as a composer , bassist and founder of various projects such as the No Square Quartet & 60 Miles Trio. He has played with these projects all around the world resulting in numerous cd’s. He also creates music for theatre pieces.

He is a excellent accompanist and a talented soloist. He has a strong sense of melody and recently he has concentrated his research in polyrythms.

If when he was student the record of Miles Davis « The Man with the Horn » introduced him to jazz, now he’s latest influences among others are the music of Ambrose Akinmusire  and Tigan Hamasyan.

Phillip Leibungut is a Swiss Jazz drummer based in Bern, Switzerland. He studied at the Hochschule der Künste Bern with Dejan Terzic as a Professor.

He’s a young drummer, striving to explore many different musical settings, always eager to learn and discover new aspects of Music. After listening to Tony Wiliams, playing with Miles Davis, he began playing Jazz in an early age. Ever since then, he has been working on playing and writing Music. His passion for improvised Music has led him into many different settings, styles and vibes.

He has played many concerts with several Bands and Projects in Switzerland, Germany, Hungary, France and Tunisia. Among other Formations such as Florian Weiss’ Woodoism, Shane Quartet, Windisch and Dimitri Howald Trio,  he has recently started a steady Gig as drummer of the Swiss Jazz Orchestra.
