2017年7月15日，Charles Lindsay和苏少禹的首展将在北京今日美术馆正式开展。

碰巧，最近通过大洋彼岸的一个美国朋友，我认识了CharlesLindsay，而且他和苏少禹的艺术作品《风洞：关于红山文化的艺术实验》的首展即将在今日美术馆与大家面。Lindsay非常高兴有机会和大家提前分享他关于艺术、关于传统文化、关于人类未来的一些思考，特别是通过他在NASA美国宇航局风洞（世界上最大的风洞）曾经做过的一些艺术实践。于是有了这次沙龙的想法。时间有些紧，但是机会难得，欢迎参与！

Very recently, I got to know a newfriend, Charles Lindsay, at the introduction of an old friend from New York.Charles and his artist partner, Su Shaoyu, are working on an art installation: Wind Tunnel: the Hongshan Experiment, which is tohave it debut in Today Art Museun very soon. This installation integrates theartists’ shared interests in deep time, ancient history, far futures and thephenomena of technology.

This is why we are inviting you for a salon. Timeis a bit tight, but there is no other choice given his busy preparation workfor this exhibition. Hope you can join us.

主讲人

Charles Lindsay ( b. 1961, SanFrancisco ) is a multi-disciplinary artist interested in the evolution ofecosystems, cultures and technology. He creates immersive environments, soundinstallations, sculptures built from salvaged aerospace and bio-tech equipment.

Educated as an exploration geologistLindsay is the SETI Institute’s AIR Program Director, a Guggenheim Fellow, andFellow at the Nevada Museum of Art’s Center for Art and Environment. Lindsay isthe innovator behind OSA EARS - a project designed to deliver real time highresolution sound and data from one of Earth’s most biodiverse rain forests toanyone anywhere with internet. Located on Costa Rica’s OSA peninsula, OSA EARSand it’s parallel sound installation ECOTONE, have recently been secured fordevelopment by BELL LABS Experiments in Art and Technology program (E.A.T.) inconjunction with OSA Conservation and the design/engineering firm ARUP.

苏少禹 （1990年生于中国天津）是一位生活工作在洛杉矶的新媒体艺术家和摄相师。他关注于技术和科学如何解释艺术和电影的可能性和局限性。少禹基于媒体从大画幅胶片摄影来探索计算摄影和摄影构成。

他目前是南加大电影艺术学院Jaunt VR电影实验室的技术总监和研究员。他在VortexImmersion Media, Los Angeles Center Studios展示了他身临其境的Dome投影作品。苏持加州艺术学院的硕士学位，华盛顿大学两个学士学位。

Shaoyu Su ( b.1990, Tianjin ) is a Los Angeles based new media artist and cinematographer.His work focuses on how technology and science interpret art and cinema interms of freedom and limitations. Shaoyu has explored photographic based mediaranging from large-format analog film photography to computationalphotogrammetry, video-mapping and composition.

Su is currentlythe Director of Technology and a Research Fellow at the Jaunt Cinematic VR Lab,USC School of Cinematic Arts. He has shown his immersive dome projection workat Vortex Immersion Media and the Los Angeles Center Studios. Su completed hisMasters of Fine Arts at California Institute of the Arts and holds two BachelorDegrees from the University of Washington.
