Significant advances of neuroimaging techniques and findings on baby brain development happened only recently, along with the improved health care of babies (including those with preterm birth). Recognizing the vitality and diversity of the baby brain neuroimaging community, Neuroimage is proud to announce a special issue on Imaging baby brain development. This issue will aim to highlight the recent advances of neuroimaging techniques and findings related to the baby brain development in health and illness. Various imaging modalities comprising functional, diffusion, structural and perfusion MRI, MEG, EEG, NIRS and PET as well as cutting-edge analytic approaches including motion correction, brain atlas, computational neuroanatomy, brain morphology, structural connectivity, functional connectivity, and network analysis will be covered.

This special issue will consist of reviews by experts on a suite of baby brain neuroimaging topics. It will also be open to unsolicited original research articles relevant to the special issue. Before submitting an unsolicited original research article, we suggest that authors inquire with the guest editors if their topic falls within the scope of the special issue. The important submission and acceptance deadlines are listed below, and articles will be published in early view as soon as they are accepted.
